Product Introduction
A fire ball valve is a quarter-turn rotational valve used to control water flow in fire protection systems with speed and reliability.
Its core component is a hollow, perforated sphere (the ball) inside the valve body. When the handle is turned 90 degrees, the ball's hole aligns with the flow path to open the valve or rotates perpendicular to shut it off completely. This simple design allows for quick operation—critical during emergencies.
Unlike gate valves, ball valves are suitable for both fully open and fully closed positions and can sometimes be used for basic throttling. Typically made from brass, stainless steel, or chrome-plated materials, they are valued for their durability, leak-tight seal, and resistance to corrosion. In firefighting, ball valves are commonly found on hydrants, pump panels, and hose lines where rapid flow control is essential.
